Last Stagecoach West

The Internet Movie Database reports (see here ) that the "Last Stagecoach West" used Towsley Canyon as a location. This Republic Pictures movie was released in 1957 and was directed by Joe Kane. It starred Jim Davis, Mary Castle, Victor Jory, and Lee Van Cleef. Jim Davis is best know as Jock Ewing, the family patriarch in the long-running TV series "Dallas". Davis died in 1981.

Here is a short clip from the movie. I really can't tell if this is Towsley Canyon or not, but it was filmed over 50 years ago, and there has been a lot of changes to the canyon since then. If it was filmed in the canyon, it must have been before the Narrows because the Pico Anticline is not evident in any scenes.

Unknown Movie

This is supposed to be a film shoot in Towsley Canyon in 1927. It certainly looks like just outside the south entrance of the Narrows on the west side.
