Eight Generations of Lyon

The Lyon family seal in 1744 (from the "Lyon Memorial")

Sanford and Cyrus Lyon's American roots go back to Henry Lyon, who emigrated to the colonies, Connecticut, in 1648. Henry married Elizabeth Bateman in 1652. The "Lyon Memorial" (see below) is a very complete look at the Lyon family geneology and can be freely downloaded from the internet. The "Lyon Family Album" by Victoria Norton is available for viewing at the Santa Clarita Historical Society in Newhall, California. Her emphasis was on Cyrus (her great, great, grandfather) and his offspring.
